On October 4th of this year, I was fortunate enough to capture the Wedding Film of Alex and David.
There was so much energy and love, it was so hard to capture everything but I think our perspective does a great job of delivering how strong their relationship really is!
When we were first introduced to Alex and David, it was through White House Design Studio in Phoenix, Arizona. One of the excellent planners responsible in crafting this once-in-a-lifetime event, Jennifer, said to me, “You have to meet Alex! She has some really great ideas of what she wants to do.” So we met and I was so excited by how excited she was to have us at her wedding. Really what it came down to was this: create a intimate recap of all the work and planning they had put into the day, capture the essence of their family and friends, and tell Alex and David’s story truthfully! And that’s how this journey started.
A few months rolled by, updates were made and finally October hit. If you know anything about October in Arizona, it’s key wedding season because the weather is stunning! So I drove up to Cornville from Phoenix. For those of you who don’t know where Cornville is, it’s right outside of Sedona.
On the first day, we captured Alex and David’s interviews for their film. We always try to do these at least one day before the wedding because anticipation is always so high. Also, this is a great opportunity for us to learn more about the couple and what makes them unique. It helps us on the day of, find supporting material that matches their emotion, love and strength.
We wrapped up the day by taking our Drone out for a spin. Dancing Apache Lodge is a fantastic venue to fly because of the open air environment and landscape. And they are a lot of fun to include in our Wedding Film work. If you want to learn more about Drones, you can read the article we just posted on our blog here.
And then finally, the wedding day arrived! I can’t even begin to tell you (which is why you should watch the film), about how gorgeous and detailed everything was. From the flowers to the chandeliers; the letters hanging over barn to the initials they branded into their family tree, no stone was left unturned to make sure this was a unforgettable event.
During their first look, I could feel this closure of one chapter of their lives and the beginning of another. We tend to talk about these moments in our lives because a wedding is simply a chapter marker in our life. It is really an opportunity to create a whole new experience with another individual. I truly believe I felt that when they saw each other for the first time on their wedding day.
Of course as the day progressed, we captured more of their fun and spunky personality. Alex and David even had a chance to play with our Super 8 Camera. We’re still working on getting that developed. : )
At the Ceremony, the tree that Alex and David were married under was special to Alex because as a young girl growing up, she used to play under than tree and after they branded the tree during their ceremony, it’s something that generations of their family will remember.
But as Day turned into Night, their wedding turned into an unforgettable party. We even brought our our Slow Motion Booth for all of their guests to test out their best skills in. The results are hilarious!
And in the end, their sparkler exit was the icing on the cake for one of the ultimate weddings we have ever captured! This, among other reasons, is why their film is our featured Wedding Film on October 2014. Thank You Alex and David for letting us tell your story.
